Paris is the obvious base for Île-de-France golf, combining Le Golf National and the other region's courses with one of the world's most rewarding city experiences. Allow time for traffic to and from the courses, particularly Le Golf National south of the city.
Staying in the Versailles or Saint-Cloud area positions golfers between the two main Île-de-France courses and avoids Paris city-centre traffic. The elegant western suburbs have good hotels and are well connected to the city by train.
Chantilly town is the natural base for Golf de Chantilly, sitting just over a kilometre from the course within the Forêt de Chantilly. The Château de Chantilly and its renowned horse museum make the town worthwhile in its own right, and the direct train connection to Paris Gare du Nord keeps the city within easy reach for golfers combining courses across the region.
