Golf de Chantilly was established in 1909, with its Vineuil Course designed by Tom Simpson and expanded to eighteen holes in 1920. Routed through the pine and sandy soil of the Forêt de Chantilly, a short distance from the Château de Chantilly, it is regularly ranked among the best courses in continental Europe. The club is reserved for members at weekends and on public holidays, but welcomes visiting golfers with a handicap of 30 or below on weekdays.

Character & atmosphere
A heathland-style course through pine forest on sandy soil, closer in character to England's Surrey heathland belt than to typical French parkland golf. Strategic rather than punishing, with an emphasis on approach play and green-side subtlety over sheer length.

How to get there
Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is the closest major airport, approximately 14 miles / 22 km away. There is no direct train from the airport, but a connection via Paris Gare du Nord to Chantilly-Gouvieux station takes roughly an hour in total; the course is a short taxi ride from the station. Driving from CDG typically takes 30–40 minutes depending on traffic. The club is reserved for members at weekends and on public holidays; visitors with a handicap of 30 or below are welcome on weekdays.
Where to stay
Paris is the obvious base for Île-de-France golf, combining Le Golf National and the other region's courses with one of the world's most rewarding city experiences. Allow time for traffic to and from the courses, particularly Le Golf National south of the city.
