Opened in 2007, Monte Rei's North Course is the only Jack Nicklaus Signature design in Portugal, routed through a quiet valley between the Serra do Caldeirão mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Wide, forgiving fairways weave through mature Mediterranean trees; elevation changes create spectacular mountain and sea vistas throughout the round. Rated 75.7 (slope 146) from the tournament tees, it is the most demanding course in the Eastern Algarve and regularly placed among the top courses in continental Europe.

How to get there
Faro Airport is the main gateway for the Algarve. Monte Rei is in the eastern Algarve close to the Spanish border; the drive along the A22 takes around 40 minutes. Car hire offers the most flexibility and is available at the airport.
Where to stay
Vilamoura is the Algarve's most established golf resort town, built around a yacht marina. Its concentration of courses, hotels, and dining options makes it the most convenient base for a dedicated golf trip.
