Designed by Jeremy Turner and expanded to a full 18 holes in 2015 from an original 6-hole course opened in 1998, Lofoten Links sits at roughly 68° North — one of the few golf courses in the world where summer visitors can play under the midnight sun.

Character & atmosphere
A raw Arctic links routed across tidal flats and coastal meadow with the Lofoten peaks rising on every side. The natural terrain is unmanicured by design, wind is a constant factor, and the sense of isolation is unlike any other course in Europe.

Signature Hole

A short hole played toward the Norwegian Sea with the serrated Lofoten peaks forming the backdrop and the tidal flats of Gimsøya visible beyond the green. In summer it can be played under the midnight sun without artificial light. No bunkers frame the target — wind off the Norwegian Sea and the natural terrain are the only hazards, making club selection the sole decision.

How to get there
Lofoten Links can be reached via Leknes Airport (LKN), Svolvær Airport (SVJ), or Harstad/Narvik Airport (EVE), depending on your routing through Oslo or Bodø. Car hire is by far the most practical option — the islands have no rail connections and the drive through the archipelago is part of the experience.
Where to stay
Svolvær is the main town of the Lofoten archipelago and the practical base for Lofoten Links — widely regarded as one of the world's most dramatic golf courses. The midnight sun (playable from late May to late July) and the scenery of sea, mountain, and fishing village make this an unmistakably special destination.
