Kennemer Golf & Country Club in the coastal dunes near Zandvoort, North Holland, Netherlands
Netherlands

Amsterdam / North Holland

Where to stay

Amsterdam

Amsterdam is the gateway for Dutch links golf, with Kennemer at Zandvoort accessible from Schiphol Airport without entering the city. As a base it offers an unrivalled combination of art museums, canals, cycling culture, and restaurants. Golfers arriving by air will often pass Kennemer on the way to the city.

Golf access
Kennemer Golf & Country Club is 25 km west in Zandvoort; Schiphol Airport is en route.
Restaurants & evenings
An internationally diverse food city with excellent Dutch seafood (herring, North Sea plaice), Indonesian cuisine (rijsttafel), and a strong café culture.
Families
The Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House, Artis Zoo, and the canal network make Amsterdam one of Europe's best family city-break destinations.

Haarlem / Zandvoort

Haarlem is the elegant alternative to Amsterdam for golfers focused on Kennemer — closer to the course, with its own well-preserved historic centre and a genuinely good restaurant scene. Zandvoort's beach and the surrounding dune landscape that the course is routed through are the defining features of this part of the Dutch coast.

Golf access
Kennemer Golf & Country Club is in Zandvoort — the most direct base for the course.
Restaurants & evenings
Haarlem's old town has an excellent restaurant and café scene; Zandvoort is a beach resort with more limited but adequate dining.
Families
Haarlem's Frans Hals Museum, the North Sea beach at Zandvoort (Formula 1 circuit is next to it), and the tulip fields of the Bollenstreek in season.
