Course overview
Golf was first played at Knokke in 1899, with the club formally established in 1909 and Royal status granted in 1925. Harry Colt laid out the original courses from 1907, routed through the coastal dunes at Knokke-Heist. The original layout was destroyed during the Second World War and rebuilt afterwards under Lieutenant Colonel Allen into the current par 72 Championship Course, alongside a shorter par 64 Executive Course. Visitors are welcome by prior reservation, with green fee play generally restricted to after 13:00 on weekends and bank holidays.

How to get there
Ostend-Bruges International Airport (OST) is the closest regional airport, approximately 54 km / 45 minutes' drive, though it has limited scheduled services. Brussels Airport (BRU) offers a far broader international network and is roughly 90–120 minutes away by car depending on traffic. Visitors must reserve a starting time in advance; on weekends and bank holidays, green fee play is generally only available from 13:00 onwards.

Het Zoute, the villa district where Royal Zoute is located, is Knokke-Heist's most exclusive neighbourhood — a mix of early-20th-century villas and a genuinely upmarket Belgian seaside atmosphere. The wider town has a strong dining scene and an easy, walkable promenade, making it a comfortable base for a short golf trip on the Belgian coast.
