Llŷn Peninsula, Wales
Nefyn & District Golf Club
A 27-hole clifftop complex on the Llŷn Peninsula, with sea views from every tee and nine holes played on a dramatic headland known as "the Point."
Course overview
Nefyn & District Golf Club was founded in 1907 as a nine-hole course, extended to 18 holes in 1912. J.H. Taylor added a further nine and revised the existing layout in 1933, and the club now plays across three nine-hole loops, including a redeveloped peninsula stretch known as "the Point," completed in 2015 by Swan Golf Designs. Every tee offers a sea view, and the club is open to visitors year-round, subject to member competitions.

Character & atmosphere
A clifftop course on a narrow headland above Porth Dinllaen, with sea views from every tee and, on the Point nine, the Irish Sea visible on both sides simultaneously. Exposed to Atlantic wind throughout, it rewards controlled ball flight and is as much a scenic experience as a golfing test.

Practical guidance
Plan your visit
How to get there
Liverpool John Lennon (LPL) and Manchester (MAN) are the practical airport options, both roughly 2–3 hours' drive given the Llŷn Peninsula's remote location — there is no nearby major airport. Rail connects to Pwllheli, around 7 miles from the club, with a change required en route. Visitors are welcome year-round via the club's online booking system, subject to member competitions.
Where to stay
Morfa Nefyn and neighbouring Nefyn are the obvious base, putting the course a short drive or walk from most accommodation. The Llŷn Peninsula is remote by UK standards — expect a rural, unhurried pace rather than a developed golf-resort infrastructure, with Eryri (Snowdonia) visible inland and the coastal path running past Porth Dinllaen's beach.
