Course overview

Keilir Golf Club was established in 1967 and sits on the lava-field landscape of the Reykjanes Peninsula southwest of Reykjavík, with the distinctive cone of Keilir volcano visible throughout the round. The 18-hole links layout was shaped by Magnús Guðmundsson, Nils Skjöld and Hannes Þorsteinsson across open, wind-swept terrain that gives it a raw and dramatic character unique even among Icelandic courses. The proximity to Reykjavík and Keflavík International Airport makes it one of the most accessible rounds in Iceland.

Where to stay

Reykjavík is the world's northernmost capital and one of Europe's most distinctive short-break destinations. Keilir Golf Club is a manageable drive south, and the surrounding lava landscape of the Reykjanes Peninsula gives Icelandic golf a genuinely surreal quality. The city's geothermal pools, Northern Lights season, and midnight sun make it an exceptional destination beyond the golf.
