Estela Golf Club
Duarte Sottomayor's 1989 links design along 3 kilometres of Atlantic coastline north of Porto — one of the most authentic links experiences in southern Europe.
Course overview
Designed by Duarte Sottomayor and inaugurated in January 1989, Estela Golf Club is laid out along three kilometres of Atlantic coastline at Póvoa de Varzim, approximately 30 kilometres north of Porto. The links-style layout plays through coastal dunes and natural rough, with the prevailing Atlantic wind a constant factor. From the white tees the course measures 6,148 metres with a course rating of 72.7 (slope 131). The combination of genuine links terrain, ocean exposure, and a relatively short distance from Porto makes Estela a natural stopping point for golfers exploring northern Portugal.
